PTT LNG Company Limited (PTTLNG) established PE LNG Company Limited (PE LNG) on June 16, 2023.
The primary objective of PE LNG is to operate and manage services related to the operation and maintenance of the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) receiving terminal, LNG storage tanks, natural gas receiving and regasification station,
as well as cold energy management and other related businesses.
This establishment was intended to accommodate the joint venture with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT),
in line with the Cabinet Resolution dated December 6, 2022.
In April 2024, PTTLNG transferred the relevant assets, liabilities, and licenses for the service operations of the Map Ta Phut LNG Terminal 2 (LMPT2), located at Ban Nong Fab, Map Ta Phut Sub-district, Mueang Rayong District, Rayong Province, to PE LNG. Subsequently,
EGAT acquired a 50% stake in the company, effective from April 30, 2024, onwards.
To ensure challenging operations, the company has established two key goals: to achieve Best-in-class performance for its LNG Terminal by 2030, and to reach Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
